Uncle Milt’s Cottages in Indian Rocks Beach

My wife and I took over the management here at Uncle Milt’s Cottages in the summer of 2010. We have done a lot of work here to upgrade this place and have gotten a lot of positive feedback from our visitors. We have a unique product to offer - the “Old Florida” Cottage lifestyle but with the modern stuff like cable TV, a/c and wireless internet. Our cottages are from the WWI era, with the original heart pine. It’s a very relaxed, laid-back atmosphere that offers a degree of privacy and comfort that a modern condo or hotel can’t match.

One of the things people love aboout our cottages are the big front porches, where you can sit and have a drink or a smoke, or just relax and breathe the salt air. We’re right acroos the street from the beach, so we can charge less than the places across the street while still offering a great beach vacation experience.

We have also redecorated and upgraded the interiors so that the cottages are very warm and “homey” inside. The cottages have full-sized, fully-equipped kitchens that you can easily use to prepare meals thus saving a lot on eating out.

Many of our guests are not the typical internet junkies who will go online and write Uncle Milt’s Cottages reviews, but we have learned the importance of having reviews from happy guests online for others to read. I’m not one for pushing guests to go online and write a review, but the reality exists that people use that to decide where to stay and where not to stay. We’ll be offering an easier way for our guests to give reviews in the coming months and years.

Carpet film is the best way to protect floors

I recently did a major painting job in my house, and through a relative I had heard about using carpet film to protect my rugs. The film came in a roll, with one side being slightly tacky and the other a smooth plastic.

The great advantage of this was the fact that nothing slid around or moved when we walked or put ladders down on top. Very safe! When we were done with the job, we just pulled the film off and it left no residue at all.

I have found other uses for the carpet protection film as well, such as for a graduation party my friend had on a rainy day. People were coming in and out all day long, so we put the carpet film down on the main entry/traffic areas, and at the end of the day we pulled the carpet film up and the rug was pristine.

Contractors love this sticky carpet protector as it shows their customers that they care about not messing up their rugs with their dirty shoes and work, and it so easy and afe to work with.

Still another usage is for classic cars. At shows, people are getting in and out, and the mats will tend to get messed up, especially if the weather is less than ideal. Simply wrap a piece of carpet film around the mat.

The Use of Heavy Duty Dog Crates

Crate training is a bit of a controversial subject - I myself have seen some dogs that seem to enjoy spending time in their crate, making their owners ecstatic that the dog is so well behaved.

There are, unfortunately, some neurotic dogs out there, and crate training can be a great way to prevent them from destroying your house while you are at work.

You do want to go with heavy duty dog crates, as dogs can be tireless chewers and escape artists. There is a great selection and some great info on heavy duty dog crates at http://heavydutydogcrates.net .

Global Verge - Is there a Global Verge Scam?

Recently I learned of a network marketing opportunity from a group of marketers that had been involved with a company called Global Verge. They were initially attracted to the company because of the promise of a new cell phone product that was supposed to be state-of-the-art less expensive than major carriers, and did not involve a long-term contract. The other attractive point in joining was the network marketing pay plan, which was based on what they called a 3 x 9 forced matrix.

This forced matrix involved a whole new concept in network marketing, where there would no longer be a payout matrix is that looked good at first but disappointed when payout time came. No more weak legs, runaway legs, broken legs, etc. It is truly a brilliant payout plan that even rewards people who only got three others to sign up and did nothing more.

As brilliant as the payout plan is, the problem that occurred was that the cellular product never was delivered as promised, therefore crippling the efforts of many large and small network marketers. Many people have a natural distrust in the network marketing industry, and the fact that the cell phone products never really got off the ground properly and delivered as promised made it look like a global verge scam. I wouldn’t really go so far as to call it a scam, because by definition scams are planned out in advance. This one seems to have been more of the “incompetent management” variety.

Fortunately, the marketers involved with Global Verge were subsequently approached by a company who truly had the funding, framework and management expertise in place to properly launch and operate the same state-of-the-art technology. The new company is about to launch. You can find out more by following this global verge scam link.

More on Las Vegas — kid friendly hotels

Las Vegas has never been known as a kid friendly place, but in recent years it has become more tailored towards family vacations. Whether this is a long-term trend or not still remains to be seen. It’s interesting to note that the Excalibur was originally designed to attract families and kids, and they actively marketed to families. Although they still have the arcade/Midway level below the casino, they are moving away from the family-based business model going after a more hip public.

Circus Circus was the first hotel to actively market towards families, and they still do. They continue to expand, and added the AdventureDome some years ago that seems to be successful. There are still doing their circus act nightly, and attract lots of families with kids, as they should.

And yes, you see things like the roller coaster at New York/New York and the Gameworks arcade going strong, but the jury is still out on whether Las Vegas will become a family-friendly vacation spot in the long-term. Purchasing houses can be a intimidating ordeal. But if you remember a few general tips you will have a easy house buying experience.

Before choosing your real estate agent, try to look into things to to make sure that your candidate is good enough. Ask for multiple of references that are strong and in good standing with you.

Another thing to recall is the investment aspect of the purchase. Investors should take the time to study the local real estate market and determine if the property you are wanting to purchase will increase or go down over time. Always go for the homes that will have a higher re-sale value in the future..

Another key element you should pay close attention to is the mortgage rate for the home you are wanting to buy. Make sure you can get financed for the property and still be within your monthly budget.

For many of the real estate markets in the United States there are many investment properties you can pick from. Investment houses are those in whioch you can make money on over a period of time. Many of the top locations for investment properties are those cities that have a major tourismmarket. Myrtle Beach, Orlando, and Branson are all such markets. If you are interested in seeing some examples of great investment properties in a vacation city, you can check out the listings on a website. Branson has a huge vacation and tourism market.

I would also recommend that each individual buyer take a real good look at some of the nightly properties that can be found at affordable prices. Branson homes can be used for rentals and as second home properties. Cabins and condos are also great for your own family’s vacation.

To read more real estate information and quality articles, you can always visit the Branson Homes blog to discover new and innovative upcoming events in the real estate market.

Penang Island Malaysia

Situated on the north-western coast of the Malay Peninsula at the entrance to the Straits of Malacca, Penang Island covers an area of 292 sq km (112 sq mi). The island is separated from mainland Malaysia by a channel of sea varying between 3 km (1.9 mi) and 13 km (8 mi) wide, and they are linked by the 13.5 km (8.4 mi) Penang Bridge, one of the longest bridges in the world.

The island has the oldest British settlement in Malaysia, which was founded by Captain Francis Light in 1786 while he was searching for a docking place for ships of the East India Company. Captain Light made a treaty with the Sultan of Kedah who gave him permission to colonize the sparsely populated island.

Penang today is a fine mixture of old and new: bustling, industrial port meets historic Old Town. In the capital, Georgetown, modem skyscrapers tower above one of the largest collections of pre-war buildings in south-east Asia. Colourful produce markets compete for space with high-tech electronics manufacturers. There is also a fascinating mixture of cultures here. Hundred year old churches, Chinese temples, Indian temples and mosques stand side by side.

In the middle of the bustling modern city is Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera), at almost 900 m (2,953 ft) high, with its cool, clean air. From its summit there are amazing views of the town, the island, and even the mountains on the mainland when the sky is clear. There is a Swiss-built funicular railway to take visitors to the summit, which creaks its way up through the beautiful tropical forest. At the top of the hill there is a cafe, a Hindu temple and a mosque.

If you want to escape the busy city, there are other attractions on the island, including plenty of lovely beaches, some quaint fishing villages, beautiful stretches of forest and cascading waterfalls. Among the less crowded beaches are Muka Head, Pantai Keracut, Monkey Beach, Pantai Acheh and Gertak Sanggul.

Penang Island is enriched by its numerous ethnic communities, among them Malays, Chinese and Indians, which live side by side in harmony to create a multi-faceted culture. Each community maintains its cultural identity through religious festivals and cultural shows, including angsawan, Boria, flag processions, the Chingay Parade, the Nine Emperor Gods Festival, the Hungry Ghosts Festival and Thaipusam. This succession of colourful festivals unravels throughout the year and when one big celebration is finished, another begins.

Build Cheap Chicken Coop

Why spend a fortune on a retail hen house when you can build a cheap chicken coop instead? To be honest, a self-made premium coop with all the extras will come in at under half the price of a new one, and it will only take a day or 2 to build. This article gives you a general outline on the best home chicken coops.

Click here for download how to build cheap chicken coop.

The 3 Main Chicken Coop Options

Depending on how big your backyard or farm is, how many chickens you plan on keeping, and how much time and energy you want to invest in setting up your coop, there are 3 main options:

1) A small chicken coop that is designed to be moved around (1-3 chickens)

2) A medium, box-shaped coop that is more difficult to move around (4-9 chickens)

3) A large sized, premium chicken coop for large flocks (10+ chickens)

If you’re new to the idea of keeping chickens at home, but want to get a decent egg yield, I highly recommend starting with a medium coop that can be expanded later on, as your flock grows. I don’t recommend using a small, portable chicken coop as a permanent home for your birds, as it is generally unethical, and will reduce overall egg output.

Cheap Chicken Coop Materials

If you’ve got a good idea on how big you want your coop, it’s time to start collecting building materials. Standard materials include timber for the frame (pine, hardwood, or even unfinished logs can be used), mesh wire for a secure and ventilated coop, and a few other things. You honestly don’t need a lot.
